Wundert Ihr Euch vielleicht, dass es irgendwie anders ist?
Do you wonder, perhaps, that it is somehow different?
Ich habe diesen Untergrund gemalt und dann versucht sichtbar zu machen, was ich dort gefunden habe. Es ist also kein Bild, das ich geplant habe.
I have painted this background and then tried to make visible, what I had found there. It is not a painting, that I had planned.

Ich fand es sehr aufregend, als ich sie entdeckt habe. Ich habe das Bild sozusagen nonstop gemalt. Ich habe an einem Tag den Untergrund gemalt und als ich dann abends die Figur entdeckt habe, konnte ich es gar nicht abwarten, sie am nächsten Morgen sichtbarer zu machen. Ich habe morgens schon um 7 Uhr angefangen zu malen und erst um 9 Uhr abends das Licht an der Staffelei ausgemacht.
It was very exciting, when I discovered it. I have painted this painting so to speak nonstop. I have painted in one day the background and when I discovered the figure in the evening, I could hardly wait to make her more visible the next morning. I started painting at 7 o'clock in the morning and turned out the lights at the easel not until 9 o'clock in the evening.
Es ist ein Bild geworden, das mir sooo gut gefällt und es war einfach nur ein Vergnügen, es zu malen. Kein überlegen, einfach nur malen. Ich wünschte, es wäre immer so einfach.
It has become a painting, that I like sooo much and it was just a pleasure, to paint it. No ponder, just paint. I wish it were always as easy.
Es war bei dem Pfau, den ich vor diesem Bild gemalt habe, schon ähnlich. Es hat mich dabei nur ein kleines Stückchen des Hintergrundes an eine Pfauenfeder erinnert, was mich dann den Pfau hat malen lassen.
It was already similar with the peacock-painting, which I had painted before this painting. Just a little bit of the background reminded me of a peacock feather and that made me, to paint the peacock.
