VERKAUFT - Original Gemälde "The dreamer"

Ich denke ich sitze häufig viel zu lange auf meinen Bilder. Anfangs malen sie sich relativ schnell, aber dann kommt ein Punkt, wo ich nur noch überlege. Ich denke, an diesem Punkt sollte ich meine Bilder wohl beenden. Meistens ändere ich nichts wesentliches mehr, sondern grübel nur noch. Oftmals landen sie dann auch in der Ecke als "unfertig". Ich versuche sie jetzt, wenn ich an diesen Punkt komme, als beendet zu betrachten. Ich glaube wirklich fertig sind sie sowieso nie. Nach einer Zeit möchte man immer wieder etwas ändern.

I think I often sit too long on my paintings. At first, they paint quite quickly, but then there comes a point, where I just wonder what to change. I think at this point, I should probably finish my paintings. I usually do not change anything essential anymore, but I'm only pondering. Often they then end up in the corner as "unfinished". I try now, when I come to that point, to regard them as done. I think they are never really finished anyway. After a time you want to change something again and again.

Bei diesem Bild grübel ich auch schon seit Tagen. Ich erkläre es jetzt einfach als fertig und gehe zum nächsten über, damit dieses nicht wieder in der Ecke landet und dann vielleicht irgendwann übermalt wird.

About this painting I'm also pondering for days now. I'll declare it as finished now and go on to the next, so that this one does not end up in the corner again and then maybe be repainted sometime.

Fine Art Print "Elise"

Ich bekomme ab und zu Anfragen, ob ich nicht auch Leinwanddrucke von meinen Bildern anbieten könnte, damit meine Kunst auch für Leute erschwinglich wird, die gerade nicht so viel Geld für ein Original-Gemälde ausgeben können oder wollen. Manchmal ist es auch so, dass es jemanden gibt, der sich ärgert, weil er verpaßt hat, ein Original-Gemälde zu kaufen und dann wenigstens einen  Leinwanddruck davon kaufen möchte.

From time to time I get requests, if I could also offer canvas prints of my paintings, so that my art is affordable even for people, who can't spend so much money on an original painting. Sometimes it also happens, that there is someone, who is angry, because he has missed to buy an original painting and then at least want to buy a canvas print of it.

Jedenfalls habe ich vor einiger Zeit mal zwei Leinwand-Drucke bestellt und war damit überhaupt nicht glücklich. Ich male immer auf Holz und nicht auf Leinwand, weil mir dieses "labberige" nicht gefällt. Und genauso geht es mir bei den Leinwanddrucken auch. Sie haben vom Gefühl her nichts mit meinen Bildern zu tun. Die Kunden, die diese gekauft haben, fanden sie ganz toll, aber ich möchte nichts verkaufen, von dem ich nicht selbst auch überzeugt bin. Deshalb habe ich Leinwanddrucke für mich abgehakt.

Anyway, I ordered two canvas prints some time ago and was not happy with them. I always paint on wood and not on canvas, because I don't like this "limp touch" (I don't know the appropriate word). And so it is the same for me with the canvas prints. My feeling is, that they have nothing to do with my paintings. The customers, who bought these canvas prints, were really happy with them, but I would not like to sell anything, that I'm not also convinced of. That's why I canceled canvas prints for me.

Nach langer Überlegung möchte ich jetzt aber dazu übergehen, ab und zu Kunstdruck auf Holz aufzuziehen. Es ist zwar mit Arbeit für mich verbunden, aber es gefällt mir hinterher so viel besser. Ich habe einen kleinen Fine Art Druck von "Elise" bestellt und ihn von Hand auf ein Stück Holz aufgezogen und bin sooo begeistert von diesem kleinen Bild.
 
After much consideration, I would now like to offer art prints on wood from time to time. Although it is connected with some work for me, but I like it so much better afterwards. I have ordered a small fine art print of "Elise" and mounted it by hand on a piece of wood and I am sooo excited about this small picture.

Ich kann mir gerade so gut eine ganze Wand voll mit solchen kleinen Bildern vorstellen. Oder eine Wand mit ganz vielen, kleinen, gesammelten Dingen.

I can so good imagine a whole wall full of such little pictures, or a wall with lots of small, collected things.

Ich habe auch noch einen großen Druck auf Holz aufgezogen. Den muß ich aber noch versiegeln.

Dieses kleine Bild hat es mir aber ganz besonders angetan. Ich muß auf jeden Fall noch weitere kleine machen. Sie sind auch so gut zum Verschenken geeignet.

Das Bild ist jetzt fertig und sucht ein neues Zuhause. Ich glaube, dass es Elise sein könnte. Ich habe sie jetzt jedenfalls so genannt.

Somehow, I forget constantly to photograph the paintings on the wall at the moment. So, this will be handed in later. It's too dark for that now.

Ich hatte angefangen, eins der Mädchen auch noch alleine zu malen. Das Bild ist jetzt fast fertig. Leider hat sie mir bis jetzt ihren Namen noch nicht verraten. Ob es wohl Elise ist?

I had also started to paint one of the girls alone. This painting is almost finished, now. Unfortunately she hasn't revealed her name, yet. Should it be Elise, perhaps?

Vorsätze für 2014

Happy New Year, Dear Friends.

Habt Ihr Vorsätze fürs neue Jahr gefaßt? Ich bis jetzt nicht wirklich, also jedenfalls keine konkreten, greifbaren, was meine Kunst betrifft. Gestern habe ich mir aber überlegt, dass es eine gute Idee wäre, täglich eine Übung zu machen, um meine zeichnerischen Fähigkeiten zu verbessern. Ich denke man kann nur besser werden, wenn man es regelmäßig tut. Also habe ich mir dieses kleine Ziel gesetzt, mir 5 - 10 Minuten pro Tag fürs Zeichnen zu nehmen. Nichts großartiges also, was ich sowieso nicht lange durchhalten kann, sondern nur ein paar Minuten pro Tag. Das muß doch wohl gehen, oder?

Do you have some intentions for the new year? I don't have any so far, at least no concrete, tangible, as far as my art is concerned. But yesterday, I considered, that it would be a good idea, to make a daily exercise, to improve my drawing skills. I think you can only get better, if you do it regularly. So I have set myself this small goal, to take 5 - 10 minutes a day for drawing. Nothing great, with what I can not keep up for long, but just a few minutes a day. This must surely work, right?


Ich habe mir gedacht, dass ich mir jeden Monat ein bestimmtes Thema überlege, mit dem ich mich befasse. Für den Januar habe ich mir den Körper ausgesucht. Ich finde verschiedene Haltungen, und Proportionen sowieso, ziemlich schwierig. Vielleicht konzentriere ich mich dann mal einen Monat auf die Hände oder die Füße, auch alles sehr schwierig.

I thought, that every month I will consider a specific topic, with which I will deal. For January I picked the body. I find different attitudes, and proportions anyways, quite difficult. Maybe I focus then one month on the hands or the feet, also very difficult.

Dies war die erste schnelle Zeichnung, die ich gestern in 5 Minuten gemacht habe und mit der diese Idee entstanden ist.

This was the first quick drawing, that I made in 5 minutes yesterday, and with which this idea originated.

Heute habe ich diese Skizze in 10 Minuten gemacht.

Hallo! Ich bin froh, wieder zurück im Cyberspace zu sein. Unser Internet funktionierte jetzt fast 5 Tage nicht. Es war eine gefühlte Ewigkeit. Ich weiß, dass ich noch ein paar Antworten schuldig bin, aber ich bitte noch um etwas Geduld. Ich werde bald alles aufgeholt haben.

Hello! I'm glad to be back in cyberspace again. Our internet wasn't working almost 5 days. It was an eternity. I know, that I'm still a few answers guilty, but I ask you to wait just one more moment. I will soon catch up on everything.

Hier ist schon einmal ein kleines Bild, das ich gemalt habe. Eigentlich fällt es mir ja eher schwer, kleine Bilder zu malen, aber jetzt fand ich es auf einmal sehr entspannend, mal so ein kleines Bild zu malen.

"Nicht nur für Elise" - work in progress

Es läßt mir einfach keine Ruhe. Ich muß mal ausprobieren, ob dieser merkwürdige Text jetzt weg ist, oder ob er mich nun bei jedem neuen Post verfolgt.

I can't get any rest. I must try it, if this strange text is gone with this post, or whether it follows me now with each new post.

Ich zeige Euch deshalb mal wie weit ich mit dem neuen, angefangenen Bild bin. Es ist immer noch nicht fertig, aber es hat sich schon viel getan, was sich zu zeigen lohnt.

Google-Eintrag und work in progress

Gestern habe ich frustriert aufgegeben. Ich habe einen Post geschrieben und bei der Veröffentlichung erschien zusätzlich zu meinem Text irgendein Text, der nicht von mir war. Sehr merkwürdig. Ich habe den Post mehrmals gelöscht und wieder neu geschrieben, aber leider ohne Erfolg. Ich hoffe sehr, dass ich denjenigen, die meine Posts abonniert haben, nicht auf den Wecker gegangen bin. Ich versuche es jetzt jedenfalls noch einmal und hoffe, dass es jetzt klappt. Was soll ich sonst tun? Manchmal ist ja am Computer von selbst auch alles wieder gut.

Yesterday, I gave up in frustration. I wrote a post and when publishing, some text, that was not mine, appeared in addition to my text. Very strange. I have deleted und rewritten it several times, but unfortunately without success. I hope very much, that those one, who have subscribed to my posts, where not annoyed so much by me. Anyway, I have to try it again and hope it works now. What should I do otherwise? Sometimes everything is by itself good again on the computer.

Was ich gestern sagen wollte, war, dass ich mein Atelier im Google-Branchenbuch eingetragen habe.

What I wanted to say, yesterday, was, that I have registered my studio in the google-directory.

Ich bin gespannt, ob dadurch mehr Leute auf meiner Homepage landen. Ich hoffe nicht, dass sie vor meiner Haustür landen, denn ein Ladenlokal habe ich ja nicht. Obwohl ich, wenn jemand wirklich an einem Gemälde interessiert ist, natürlich gerne Termine mache.

I'm curious, whether this leads more people to my homepage. I do not hope, that they land on my doorstep, because I do not have a store. Although, if someone is really interested in a painting, I surely enjoy making appointments.

heimliches Face-Lifting

Ich habe mal wieder ziemliche Schwierigkeiten mit meinem Zeitmanagement. Ich verbringe im Moment viel zu viel Zeit am Computer. Es gibt immer so viel zu tun. Ich dachte, mein Blog hätte ein kleines Face-Lifting nötig. Habt Ihr meinen neuen Header gesehen? Ich wollte meinen Seiten im Netz (also meiner Homepage, meinem Blog und meiner Facebook-Seite) schon lange ein einheitlicheres Erscheinungsbild geben. Mir gefiel das Aussehen meiner Homepage schon immer am besten und so wollte ich die anderen Seiten nun angleichen. Für meinen Blog ist es mir gut gelungen, wie ich finde.

Again, I have considerable problems with my time management. At the moment, I spend far too much time on the computer. There is always so much to do. I thought, my blog could have needed a small face-lifting. Have you seen my new header? I wanted to give my sites on the net (my website, my blog and my Facebook-page) a more uniform appearance. I liked the look of my homepage always the best and so I wanted to adjust the other pages. For my blog I have done it very well, I think.

 

Für meine Facebook-Seite habe ich den gleichen Header genommen, aber da bin ich mir noch nicht sicher, ob ich es mag. Es erscheint auf Facebook irgendwie viel unruhiger. Nun ja, erst einmal bleibt es jetzt aber so.

For my Facebook page, I have taken the same header, but I'm not sure, if I like it there. It appears on Facebook somehow much more busy. Well, for now, it remains like that.

Dann hatte ich noch eine Idee für meine Homepage. Ich habe dort angefangen, die Bilder in meiner Galerie mit meinem entsprechenden Blog-Eintrag zu verlinken. Das ist im nachhinein eine ziemliche Arbeit. Bisher war es so, dass man eine Vergrößerung des Gemäldes angezeigt bekommen hat, wenn man auf ein Gemälde geklickt hat. Ich dachte mir aber auf einmal, dass es doch ganz schön wäre, wenn man von dort aus direkt auf die Detailaufnahmen auf meinem Blog zugreifen könnte. Ich fand es nämlich schon immer sehr schade, dass man auf meiner Homepage nur jeweils ein Bild von jedem Gemälde sehen konnte, ich wollte es andersrum aber auch übersichtlich haben. Ich weiß gar nicht, warum ich auf diese Idee mit dem Verlinken nicht schon früher gekommen bin. Ich habe es bisher allerdings erst einmal nur für die Gemälde gemacht, die noch zu haben sind. Für die Gemälde, die schon verkauft sind, werde ich es später einmal nachholen. Ich habe jetzt erst einmal genug von der Computer-Arbeit und muß mal wieder etwas malen.
 
Then I had an idea for my home page. I have started there to link the images in my gallery with my corresponding blog entries. That's quite a job afterwards. Previously, it was so that you got displayed an enlargement of the painting, when you clicked on the picture. But suddenly, I thought that it would be nice, if you could access from there directly to the detail shots on my blog. I found it namely always a shame, that you could only see one picture of each painting on my home page, but on the other hand, I also wanted to keep it clear. I do not know, why I have not already thought of linking it to my blog earlier. However, I have so far only done the links for the paintings, that are still available. For the paintings, that have already been sold, I will make it somehow later. I have now had enough from the computer-work and must finally paint something again.

Oh, ich wollte auch noch kurz sagen, dass es ein paar neue Postkarten in meinen Shops gibt.

Oh, I also wanted to say, that there are a few new postcards in my shops.

Jetzt bin ich aber weg, um etwas zu malen. :)

But now I'm off, to paint something. :)

 Hey lovelies!  There’s lots going on in my head lately about where I want to take my little biz, and what I want to achieve, and I’m scheming ways to put those things into action!  There’s so much to do, and I struggle so much with time management.  Next on the cards though is a little upgrade to my web site, a bit of face lift.  So very shortly you’ll be seeing a few changes around here.  The main thing that will happen is there’ll be an extra page dedicated to my designs and licensing them.   My pattern design is really an area I want to focus on and develop, so there’s more of that to come!

For now though, I’ve been playing with a few blog header designs and I thought I’d ask all of you out there for

Schöne Winterzeit

Ich hatte heute morgen eine Überraschung im Garten stehen.

Today I found a surprise in the garden.

Vor zwei Wochen haben wir unsere Haselnußsträucher etwas ausgelichtet.

Two weeks ago, we have thinned out our hazelnut bushes a little bit.

Während mein Mann die Äste gesägt hat, habe ich ein paar davon zu einem Stern ausgelegt.

While my husband was sawing the branches, I layed out a star with a few of them.

Und als ich heute in den Garten kam, hatte mein Mann sie heimlich zusammengeschraubt.

And when I came into the garden today, my husband had secretly screwed them together.
