VERKAUFT - "Lena" hat sich rausgeputzt

Darf ich vorstellen? Das ist Lena. Dem einen oder anderen von Euch wird sie vielleicht bekannt vorkommen.

May I introduce you to Lena? The one or the other of you will probably be familiar with her.

Vor einem Jahr sah sie noch so aus.

A year ago she looked like that.

 

Dieses Bild gefiel mir so gar nicht mehr. Also hatte ich beschlossen, es zu ändern.

I didn't like this painting anymore. So I decided to change it.

Ich habe den pinken Hintergrund erst komplett überdeckt. Dann dachte ich aber, dass es doch ganz schön wäre, wenn er an einigen Stellen durchscheinen würde. Ich habe dann die schon getrocknete Farbe durch heftiges Kratzen stellenweise wieder entfernt. Bei einem Gemälde, das einem nicht mehr gefällt, hat man ja nichts zu verlieren, oder? Es kann nur besser werden.

First, I have covered the pink background completely, but then I thought it would be nice, if it would show through in some places. So I heavily scratched the already dried paint. In a painting, that you don't like anymore, you have nothing to lose, right? It can only get better.

Es war schon ein ziemlicher Kraftaufwand erforderlich.

It was really force required.

Dann hatte ich mir überlegt, dass sie einen Vogel bekommen sollte. Ich mag es sehr gerne, wenn auf einem Bild nicht alles gleich offensichtlich ist und so wollte ich gerne einen Vogel drauf haben, der erst bei näherem Hinsehen zu erkennen ist. Ich wollte ihn deshalb nicht malen, sondern nur zeichnen. Das gefiel mir dann aber doch nicht wirklich. Bei meinem Spaziergang mit dem Hund kam mir dann eine viel bessere Idee.

Then I thought, that she should get a bird. I like it very much, when not everything is immediately obvious in a painting, so I wanted to have a bird on it, but one, which is seen only on closer inspection. Therefore I didn't want to paint him, but only draw. But that didn't really appeal to me. While walking my dog I got a much better idea.

Als ich wieder zuhause war habe ich meinen Lötkolben rausgeholt und den Vogel in das Holz gebrannt.

When I got home I took my soldering tool and burned the bird in the wood.

Und jetzt ist er so, wie ich ihn wollte. Er ist da, aber nicht gleich auf den ersten Blick zu erkennen. :)

And now he is the way I wanted him to be. He is there, but not recognizable at first glance. :)

Ich glaube, dieses Werkzeug hat ein großes Suchtpotential für mich.

I think this tool has a great potential for addiction for me.

Genauso wie Blattgold. Von dem kann ich auch gar nicht lassen.

Just as gold leaf. Of which I also cannot get rid of.

Ihr Gesicht ist glaube ich das einzige, was bei diesem Bild geblieben ist.

I think her face is the only thing, that remained in this painting.

Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, dieses Bild zu überarbeiten. Jetzt gefällt mir nicht nur das Gesicht gut, sondern wieder das ganze Gemälde.

It was a lot of fun for me, to rework this painting. And now I like not only her face, but the whole painting again.
