painting HER

Da ich Keilrahmen überhaupt nicht mag, baue ich mir meine Bilder immer aus Spanplatten und Dachlatten selbst zusammen. Bei diesem Bild habe ich aber wohl eine Latte verbaut, die ziemlich verdreht war. Ich habe das gemerkt, als ich Farbe auf dem Bild verteilt habe. Manchmal beginne ich ein Bild einfach indem ich erst einmal Farbe verteile, um nicht vor einem weißen Untergrund zu stehen. Na ja, wie auch immer, nachdem ich gemerkt hatte, dass das Bild irgendwie verzogen ist, dachte ich mir, ich versuche einfach die Latten noch einmal zu entfernen. Wenn es dabei kaputt geht (die Latten sind bei geklebt und genagelt) ist es auch egal, denn es ist ja noch nichts drauf. Ja, und bei diesem Gedanken habe ich SIE dann gesehen.

Since I do not like to paint on canvas, I construct the underground for my paintings of plywood and battens. But in this construction I have probably installed a batten, which was pretty twisted. Well, anyway, after I had noticed, that the construction is somewhat spoiled, I thought I'd just try to remove the battens. If it is broken in the process (as I glue and nail the battens) it does not matter, because there's still nothing on it. Yes, and at this thought I saw HER.

Ich wollte das Bild jetzt auf jeden Fall erhalten, aber die Latten mußten ab. Ich habe sie auch ab bekommen, ohne allzu großen Schaden anzurichten. Ein paar Zentimeter mußte ich die Platte aber danach absägen lassen, was aber bei der Größe nicht schlimm war. Es ist jetzt immer noch 75,5 x 100 cm. Dann habe ich neue Latten angebracht und nun versuche ich SIE zu malen. Erst habe ich ein paar Tage überlegt, ob ich die negative Form malen soll und mich dann aber dagegen entschieden. Mal sehen, was aus ihr wird. Ich finde es gerade ziemlich spannend. Einen Vogel gibt es übrigens auch noch auf dem Bild.

At first I was thinking a few days whether I should paint the negative form, but then I decided against it. Let's see what will happen. I just think it's pretty exciting. A bird is also present in the picture.
